 The crested chameleon (Chamaeleo cristatus) is rather common in primary rain forests of moderate elevation from Eastern Nigeria throughh much of the former Zaire. It forages among low bushes and branches near the ground. The largest of three populations of gorillas (Gorilla gorilla) share this habitat. In the background of this piece is the black dwarf hornbill (Tockus hartlaubi).
