In
August of 1976, this peculiar little owl was discovered high
in the Peruvian Andes. Quite unlike any other owl, this sparrow-sized
bird was named Xenoglaux loweryi. To this day, little
is known of its habits. It lives in humid cloud forests and seems
to fly little, preferring to move by foot. |
